Starting on Sunday October 21, 2018 Toki Underground will host a series of monthly dumpling and ramen-making classes featuring wine tastings called Common Cru.
At these interactive classes, guests will enjoy a guided tasting of under the radar wines with 2oz pours of three different wines and learn how to make Toki’s dumplings or ramen.
The first class will focus on Château Famaey Rosé, Bonny Doon White, and Zimmer Zweigelt.
Common Cru is a new series created by Danya Degen, a DC-based sommelier. Common Cru’s mission is to spotlight high-quality wine that is not widely available.
If attendees enjoy the wine, they can purchase a glass for $10, and guests can bring the rest of the bottle home. Tickets are $55 (Eventbrite.com) and include three 2 oz. tastes of the featured wines, as well as the featured dumplings or ramen to enjoy at Toki and take home.
The class will alternate monthly between ramen and dumplings and the wines tasted will change each class.
Common Cru will teach guests how to pair wine with the dishes created during the class.
