Washington, DC (February 5, 2013) – Union Market Bidwell‘s Chef John Mooney shares his Valentine’s Day Menu.
Bidwell is named after U.S. Army General John Bidwell, a United States Presidential candidate in 1892 and founder of Chico, California. General Bidwell was an avid farmer known for developing the Bidwell heirloom melon, a gold medal winning flour, and is credited for California’s first commercial raisin crop. Pretty cool, right?
This amazing roof to table restaurant is located in Union Market, 1309 5th Street NE, Washington DC 20002. Chef Mooney’s Valentine’s Day Menu is available at $55 a person for five courses. Or for $85 for five courses, there is the Chef’s Counter Tasting Menu. This is a seating for 6 Guests at Chef’s Counter adjacent to Kitchen, with two seating times at 5:30, 7:30, 9:30pm. Glass of bubbly for each guest is included for this Tasting Menu with Chef John Mooney serving each course himself.

1st Course – Tuna Roses with Citrus and Avocado
2nd Course – Roasted Cauliflower Soup, White Truffle and Hazelnut – or – Roasted Beets with Pistachio, Housemade Burrata
3rd Course – Seared Scallop Fingerling Potato, Smoked Bacon and Roasted Shallot – or – Steamed Black Bass Wild Mushrooms and Squash Puree
4th Course – Grilled Lamb Chops, Pistachio Sauce Yukon Mashed Potatoes, Braised Dinosaur Kale – or – Seared Breast of Duck Roasted Sweet Potato, Shaved Brussels Sprouts, Maple Glaze
