There is a vault inside the Quadrant Bar (Ritz Carlton Washington)

The Ritz-Carlton DC Vault Quadrant Bar

Quadrant Bar & Lounge in The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C. unveils the Vault; a combination safe measuring six feet high and four feet wide, that holds the establishment’s most magnificent and rare reserves. When ordering from the reserve list at Quadrant Bar & Lounge, guests are taken to the Vault where Lead Mixologist Chris Mendenhall enters the code, turns the beautiful, brass five-spoke handle, dons white gloves and carefully removes the bottle for guests to marvel at before tasting what few in the world may have the opportunity to relish. Mr. Mendenhall believes that if guests are paying anywhere from $250 to $5,000 for two ounces of reserve, it should be an experience, not a simple pour.

Quadrant Bar & Lounge announces the latest addition to the reserve list – a hand-blown glass bottle of Bowmore 1961 50 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Islay, Scotland. This bottle is part of an exquisite and extremely limited global collection of just 200 bottles that have been issued over the last four years, and is the last of its kind. Hints of black truffles and tropical fruits reveal the full maturity of the warm, smoky spirit of Bowmore. All of the Bowmore 50-year-old bottlings have spent time maturing in the famed and hallowed Bowmore No. 1 Vaults, one of the world’s oldest Scotch maturation warehouses. Quadrant Bar & Lounge is one of only a hand full of places in the United States that holds this remarkable whisky.
