Look for the first ice rink on a pier, snowfall, and more…
The Wharf built by development partnership Hoffman-Madison Waterfront (HMW) is celebrating the holiday season with winter holiday-themed events almost all month long and will host the unveiling of DC’s first ice skating rink on a pier this Saturday.
The new rink will be open every day from Saturday, Dec 2nd to mid-February, weather permitting and a live DJ on Fridays from 8:00pm – 10:00pm.
The free winter events continue with a First Night of Hanukkah Celebration, Nog Fest and Christmas Caroling.
First Night of Hanukkah Celebration – 12/12 5:00pm – 8:00pm Join a luminous evening to celebrate The First Night of Hanukkah at The Wharf Sutton Square. Watch the lighting of the menorah, and enjoy complimentary cookies, s’mores, and live music. Plus, kids can get creative at a special crafts station.
Nog Fest – 12/16 1:00pm – 4:00pm Enjoy a mug of your favorite seasonal drink or sample other tasty winter beverages at the Waterfront Beer & Wine Garden on Wharf Street, District Pier. They will have fun activities for all ages, along with games and prizes.
Christmas Caroling 12/23 7:00pm – 8:00pm Enjoy the sounds of the season—featuring the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC—and join in as they sing holiday songs to spread the Christmas spirit all along the waterfront. While you’re here, treat yourself to s’mores at the fire pit and visit the lighted Christmas Tree. Plus, Santa Claus himself will take time out of his busy schedule to join in the fun. Bring your camera to snap photos with Santa as we all count down to Christmas.
Broomball & Brews 01/02 2018 7:00pm – 9:00pm Head to the ice rink for a fun game of broomball—or cheer on the teams while you sample winter brews.
