Washington, DC (September 19, 2013) – For two days only on October 24 and 25, The Capella Hotel’s The Grill Room will host two stars in the Swedish culinary community from the city of Gothenburg, Sweden. Hans Boren of 28+ and Johan Bjorkman of Kock & Vin will work together alongside The Grill Room Executive Chef Jakob Esko, who also hails from Sweden. This unique opportunity was made possible by the efforts of the House of Sweden and the Swedish Embassy, who are flying the two chefs out to Washington.
The Swedish culinary scene is known to be inventive and dedicated to high-quality ingredients. Foraged ingredients are de rigueur, and chefs are known to play with local ingredients such lingonberry and reindeer. Washington foodies will have a rare opportunity to experience Scandinavian cuisine-from only the best Swedish chefs.
Both guest chefs are from Michelin-starred restaurants in main city on the west coast of Sweden, is famous for its wide range of fish and seafood.
On October 24 and 25, The Grill Room will be serving multiple-course lunch and dinner collaborations from Chefs Boren, Bjorkman and Esko. The three-course lunch will include options for dishes from each chef. Lunch will cost $35, and dinner will be three courses for $75, with an option for wine pairing (both costs exclude tax and gratuity.)
