St. Regis Washington, DC Appoints New Culinary Team at Decanter
The St. Regis Washington, DC welcomes Javier Cuesta Muñoz as executive chef, Thierry Delourneaux as executive pastry chef, and Andy Powell as wine director of Decanter, the hotel’s fine dining restaurant. With a new team in place, Decanter looks forward to combining classic techniques and innovative thinking with local ingredients to showcase its Mediterranean inspired cuisine and expertly curated wine list.
Javier Cuesta Muñoz has been recognized throughout his career for being a visionary chef and leveraging in-depth knowledge of the marketplace and its competitive nature. His skill in adapting to complex menus and making them his own can be seen throughout his culinary experience worldwide.
Chef Delourneaux was nominated for Executive Pastry Chef of the Year at the 14th World Gourmet Series Awards of Excellence in Asia. He was the creative mind behind the grand dessert line-up for the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards while heading the team at The Beverly Hilton.
Andy Powell was the Beverage Director of the acclaimed Central Michel Richard where he operated a vast beverage program with over 300 wines as well as a full cocktail and bar program.
