Luke’s Wings has announced their 10th Anniversary Heroes Gala to be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in Washington, DC.
Each year, Luke’s Wings hosts military heroes and their loved ones, veterans, corporations, prominent members of the Washington, D.C. community and political leaders who support our uniformed men and women for a commemorative evening.
This year’s Heroes Gala will celebrate 10 years of supporting our men and women in recovery and will look back on pivotal moments in Luke’s Wings’ spirited history. The event will return to the Trump International Hotel.
Throughout the night, guests will hear from ten families supported by Luke’s Wings; one for each of the ten years supporting the military community. ” We really wanted to take this opportunity to highlight how far Luke’s Wings has come in the past ten years,” says Lindsay Gill, Luke’s Wings Executive Director. “You will hear from ten amazing and inspirational families whose recoveries have spanned our ten years of service. You will hear their stories, see their faces and learn where they are today because of the love and support brought about by their loved ones’ visits during recovery.”
Luke’s Wings will pay homage to five companies that have had a significant impact on their success as well as one special service member’s recovery. Honorees include Texas-based SRS Distribution, Inc., SAIC, Delta Air Lines, Rumsfeld Foundation and Virginia-based government contractor, E-9 Corporation.
U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Robert Fierro (Ret.) will also be honored with the esteemed Hero Award.
Past guests have included the Honorable Donald Rumsfeld, Medal of Honor Recipient U.S. Captain Florent Groberg (Ret.), Fox News Anchors Shannon Bream, Elizabeth Prann and Ed Henry, Miss District of Columbia, and Congressman Mike Kelly.
