Washington, DC (November 20, 2012) – Noticing a cleaner view around the National Mall? Thanks to a partnership with Marriott International and the Trust for the National Mall, more than 100 Marriott employees headed out for a Day of Service on Saturday, November 17th to help restore and maintain the National Mall.
Starting early in the morning, Marriott volunteers planted tulip bulbs, raked leaves and leveled gravel around park benches on the National Mall near the U.S. Capitol, the U.S. Botanic Gardens and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian. These activities provided much-needed support to the National Park Service, and help improve and maintain the National Mall for its 25 million annual visitors.
The Trust for the National Mall is the official non-profit partner of the National Park Service’s National Mall and Memorial Parks, and is dedicated to restoring and improving the National Mall.
