Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC is pleased to announce DC S.T.O.R.M. as the beneficiary of the hotel’s Eighth Annual FANtastic 5K and Silent Auction.
On Saturday, September 29, 2018, hotel guests and colleagues will lace up their running shoes for a run/walk that begins at 9:00am at the hotel with a course that extends through the picturesque setting of the National Mall, concluding with a post-race breakfast and silent auction.
“With this being our eighth year of the FANtastic 5K, we are excited to continue our commitment to our Southwest DC community and the development of its youth,” said General Manager Adriaan Radder. “DC S.T.O.R.M. was a clear choice as this year’s beneficiary. The work they do to ensure the young men in their program are afforded every opportunity to succeed is inspiring.”
In 2017, the hotel raised over $27,480 to provide Jefferson Middle School Academy of Southwest Washington D.C. with in-class technology and building improvements.
The fee to participate is $45 and includes snacks, a pre-run stretching session, FANtastic 5K t-shirt, and post-run buffet breakfast. Children 12 and under race for free.
Mandarin Oriental, Washington DC also welcomes the donations of those who don’t wish to participate in the 5K.
