José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup is proud to announce that this Summer, America Eats Tavern will return to Washington, D.C., offering guests the opportunity to experience an inventive take on some of the country’s most iconic and historic dishes and drinks, with a spotlight on local and regional flavors.
In addition to the American classics that guests know and love, Andrés will be introducing barbeque to the restaurant’s menu to add to the culinary experience, as well as a more casual ambiance. Andrés and his culinary team have conducted extensive research to identify the best products available, highlighting local meats, seafood, wines, cheeses, beers and other products from the mid-Atlantic region.
“We’re excited to bring America Eats Tavern back to the district, where it all began, especially to historic Georgetown where we’ve been wanting to open for a long time,” said Andrés. “We know what makes America great is in no small part its rich and diverse culinary heritage and that is just what we invite everyone to come in and enjoy!”
Originally launched in 2011 in collaboration with the Foundation for the National Archives, America Eats Tavern was first conceived as a pop-up in the former Café Atlantico space. From there, Andrés and his team brought the concept to the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner. In its newest incarnation, the restaurant will be a partnership with longtime Georgetown restaurateur Bechara Nammour of Capital Restaurant Group.
