Frida Beer Garden is now open in Bethesda. Like it’s sister space TacoArepa, the concept that will pay homage to the owners’, the Roche brothers, native Venezuela and the Caribbean. Frida Beer Garden will occupy the paved space between TacoArepa and 202 Donuts and offer a full bar serving local and Latin beers as well as tropical cocktails.
“Frida will be a space for socializing, not just drinking or eating,” said Chef Alonso Roche. “We expect our guests to stay for a while and play Nerf basketball, corn-hole or dominos.”
This newest venture is very personal to the Roche brothers, especially given the strife much of their family and friends back home in Venezuela is experiencing. Half of proceeds from both TacoArepa and Friday Beer Garden will go to Acción Humanitaria por Venezuela and their humanitarian efforts in Venezuela through March 31.
The two concepts combined total about 4200 square feet, with 60 seats inside and 100 outside and will feature some industrial décor touches that will serve as a nod to street food vendors in the Caribbean. Frida Beer Garden flows from TacoArepa into the outdoor space featuring space heaters, globe string lights and antique beer garden tables imported from Germany.
Frida Beer Garden’s Opening Hours will be Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. They are offering $2 off all Maryland draft beers during the opening weekend.
