Frenchy’s Naturel, the latest concept from EatWell DC, is now open on the corner of 11th and O street NW. The restaurant, formerly The Bird, is undergoing an extensive transformation into a cozy neighborhood “boîte,” featuring casual & creative French cuisine.
The upstairs “Rose Bar” is where mixology classes and wine tastings presented by EatWell DC Mixologist, Ben Bronstein, are held. The restaurant’s expansive sidewalk cafe will resume service in the spring and full dinner and cocktail menus will be available in all spaces.
Frenchy’s beverage program focuses on French spirits, classic French cocktails and hosts an extensive selection of natural wines, beers, and ciders curated by Operating Partner, Heran Mane. “This is an exciting time in the natural movement and though challenging, we look forward to introducing DC to some new tastes,” says Mane.
“L’experience de Frenchy’s,” takes the dinner menu spotlight, consisting of Virginia Hanger steak, green salad, and French fries and served with béarnaise, balsamic-anchovy steak sauce, horseradish or sauce vert. Executive Chef Eric McKamey who recently joined the EatWell DC Restaurant Group after stints at Momofuku, DGS Delicatessen, and Mintwood Place, exercises his strong French background with additional menu items like Steak Tartare, Mussels Marinières, Alsatian Spaetzle Gratin, and Chocolate Pot de Creme.
Frenchy’s Naturel also serves weekend and holiday brunch, which includes fan favorites from The Bird in dishes like Chicken and Waffles and Fried Chicken Benedict as well as new items like Croque Madame and Steak and Eggs.
