Washington, DC – On Saturday May 14th, The DC Preservation League – the only citywide nonprofit solely dedicated to the preservation, protection,and enhancement of Washington’s historic and built environment – hosted its 45th Anniversary Awards Gala on the steps of the Old Post Office.

Over 400 attendees enjoyed bites and cocktails from Federal City Caterers and Green Hat Distilleries and DC Brau. The creative black tie event sponsored by Douglas Development, Marriott InternationalThe Prime Rib (and more) was hosted on Pennsylvania Avenue with a sky view of the Historic Old Post Office, where the Preservation League first began its activism.

Founded in 1971 as Don’t Tear It Down to save the Old Post Office on Pennsylvania Avenue, DC Preservation League has worked diligently to ensure that preservation remains an economic force for the city’s neighborhoods and historic downtown.
