Washington, DC (July 8, 2014)The Gryphon reopens with a new concept – a Meat & Raw Bar Social House and a brand new outdoor space walking distance from Renaissance Dupont Hotel, the Dupont Hotel, and the Embassy Row Hotel.

The menu is meat-centric approach with a heavy emphasis on beef, pork and lamb. Parties will also be able to enjoy The Gryphon’s oyster based raw bar, featuring the freshest shrimp, lobster and clams.

Lost Society Chef de Cuisine Joseph Evans was tapped to oversee The Gryphon’s kitchen. He will be preparing a flavorful variety of hot and cold “Social Bites,” along with an exceptional raw bar featuring oysters, lobster claws and clams. A great spot for “power lunch,” guests can anticipate menu item ranging range from $7.50 to $16.50 for salads and sandwiches and $8.50 to $16 for entrées.

EVENT SPACE
The Gryphon is nearly 7,200 square feet in total. It was transformed into its present state through the designs of Grupo-7, a local firm with a flair and expertise for hospitality. Greenrock Construction executed the designs that are meant to be modern and comfortable. While the dark wood evokes masculinity, the warmth of the color tones along with the chandeliers creates a very sensual compliment. For private dining and events, The Gryphon offers great options. One can entertain 50 for a cocktail reception in the lounge area. The Gryphon can also welcome 300 people for a reception with a buy-out of the entire restaurant.

The Gryphon is now open with lunch and dinner service, and bottomless weekend brunch. Lunch will be available Tuesday through Friday, from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Dinner will be available Tuesday through Saturday, from 5 PM to 11; Friday and Saturday, from 5 PM to 12 Midnight. Late night dancing will also be available in the first floor bar/lounge Tuesday through Thursday, from 10 PM to 2 AM, and Friday and Saturday, from 10 PM to 3 AM. Happy Hour will be offered daily, from 4 PM to 7 PM.
