City Winery Washington, DC is proud to act as the official mainstage partner for the 2018 DC Jazz Festival, the nation’s most diverse citywide jazz festival, kicking off with DC JazzFest’s Opening Ceremony on Thursday June 7, 2018.
City Winery welcomes the start of DC JazzFest with urban jazz harmonicist Frederic Yonnet on June 7, with special guests Maimouna Youssef and the Washington Renaissance Orchestra Octet. Chicago’s piano poet Patricia Barber Trio headlines June 8 and legendary jazz saxophonist Pharoah Sanders plays two shows on June 9. The jazz punk rock iconoclasts of The Bad Plus keep the party going on June 10, followed by kinetic alto saxophonist Tia Fuller on June 11, and two-time 2018 GRAMMY nominee The Baylor Project hitting the stage on June 12. June 13 brings a salute to a homegrown legend with Homage to a Master: Keter Betts featuring Ben Williams. The GRAMMY -nominated one-man army Raul Midon closes out the City Winery stage on June 14.
