Washington, DC (May 11, 2012) – The L’Enfant Society hosted another successful Ball on the Mall this past Saturday. The primary function of the event is to provide funds for restoration efforts on the National Mall by the Trust for the National Mall, the official non-profit partner of the National Park Service.
More than 1,000 guests gathered for an incredible event held in the city’s most exclusive location: the National Mall. Slightly different from last year, a VIP dinner reception began at 6pm and then a later general admission entrance time ushered in a younger, eager to dance crowd.
The Trust for the National Mall is the official non-profit partner of the National Park Service for the National Mall. Formed in 2007, the Trust’s mission is to restore and improve America’s Front Yard for its 25 million annual visitors. Faced with 30 years of deferred maintenance and a $400 million cost of repair, the National Mall is in a state of disrepair. It is the goal of the Trust to revitalize and improve the National Mall, home to the enduring symbols of our democracy, for present and future generations.
