Washington, DC (May 2, 2014) – Alison Matis has been appointed director, food & beverage for Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown. The announcement was made by Mark S. Andrew, regional vice president Northeast U.S.A. and general manager of the 415-room luxury property.
Matis brings over 12 years of hospitality experience to her new role. Prior to joining Fairmont, she was director of food & beverage for the Hilton Key Largo, Florida. Previously, she was a quality assurance consultant in food service and select service hotel operations for LRA Worldwide in Horsham, Pennsylvania. Working at the Washington Hilton from 2007 until 20l0, she held progressive positions including director of restaurants.
From 2003 until 2006, Matis assisted as a tutor and completed a culinary externship while attending the Culinary Institute of America in New York. She holds a masters in hospitality from the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland as well as a Bachelors of Professional Studies in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management from the Culinary Institute of America in New York.
