A BAR Debuts Fall Menu

Washington, DC (October 23, 2012) – As Washington welcomes the crisp fall weather, so it also welcomes new menu changes. One of these menu updates is from Avenue Suites’ A Bar.

A Bar is a 20-seat small-plates cocktail lounge with an ivy-walled, south-facing green outdoor patio that seats 60, offering the perfect escape from the city’s hustle. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame white leather couches in stylishly modern lounging spaces. Whitewashed and charcoal-stained oak floors juxtapose with slate blue upholstered panels behind the concierge desk, with all angles looking out to Pennsylvania Avenue.

A few of these new cocktails on the menu play off the Presidential Election. There is the Negotiator (Barack Obama) with Goslings rum, gin, aperol, pineapple, Thai basil, and lemongrass. Or, the F.I.G.J.A.M. (Mitt Romney) shaken up with apple brandy, cider, roasted fig syrup, rosemary. There is also Burn After Reading with Illegal mezcal, kijafa, chartreuse, chili ginger, and lime.

On the small-plate menu, there are Seared Scallops with saffron risotto, mushrooms, and buerre monte (melted butter); Ancho Chicken Sliders with chipotle, cilantro crema, and queso fresco; Ahi Tuna with forbidden rice, pickled ginger, and avocado; and a variety of Flatbread selections with toppings like sundried tomato, pesto, and goat cheese.
